The cosmology and astroparticle theory group in the Physics Department at Simon Fraser University invites applications for postdoctoral positions with a starting date in September, 2025. This includes a CITA National Postdoctoral Fellowship hosted at SFU and a position jointly supported by Profs Gopolang Mohlabeng and Levon Pogosian.

The group includes faculty members Andrei Frolov, Gopolang Mohlabeng and Levon Pogosian, and has active research interests in observational tests of fundamental theories, dark matter and neutrino phenomenology, cosmological tests of gravity, dark energy, primordial magnetic fields, early universe, black holes and topological defects. Successful candidates will benefit from interactions with SFU's experimental astroparticle and high-energy physics group with leading efforts in IceCube, ATLAS and P-ONE, as well as interactions with researchers at TRIUMF.

Strong consideration will be given to applicants with demonstrated ability for independent research in any area of theoretical cosmology and astroparticle physics. Members of traditionally underrepresented groups in physics are particularly encouraged to apply. Both appointments would be for three years.

Applications for the CITA National Fellowship should be submitted via the CITA website:

https://icat.cita.utoronto.ca/pdf/

In the CITA application, please select Simon Fraser University as the host. You will be required to submit a CV, research statement and arrange for three letters of recommendation by November 4, 2024. Informal inquiries can be sent to levon_pogosian@sfu.ca.

Applications for the joint SFU position should be submitted by email to cosmo-search@sfu.ca by November 15, 2024, and include a CV with a full list of publications and a research statement as a single PDF, and request 3 reference letters to be sent directly to cosmo-search@sfu.ca. Informal inquiries can be sent to Levon Pogosian at levon_pogosian@sfu.ca or Gopolang Mohlabeng at gmohlabe@sfu.ca.

All applications will also be considered for nomination for a Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) Postdoctoral Fellowship hosted at SFU (https://pims.math.ca/programs/scientific/postdoctoral)
